To Live Right... Is To Eat Right!

This was created way back 2008, as a favor asked by a dear friend's younger sister in celebration of the Nutrition Month in her secondary school.

Heart attack... Cancer... Liver cirrhosis... Diabetes... These are few common diseases, the so-called "lifestyle diseases" that had been talk-of-the-town from t.v.  advertisements, news and on reading materials. These had been a threat for decades. It painstakingly cause burden -physically, emotionally and financially, long life suffering and eventually lead death to millions of people around the globe- rich, poor, young or old... it chooses no one. Everyone could had it. Everyone's health is at stake! Too scary but that's reality! These furious diseases are cunningly traitors that could left us pocket empty and worst, kill us little by little. How does these illnesses emerge? It's because of us human who care less of our own health.

Nowadays, in this fast changing environment wherein modernization and advancement in technology is unstoppable and continuously on its spurt growing, how do we live life? Isn't it we live life in accordance of the new trends... of what's new? of what's in? We just follow and let ourselves go with the flow of the modern day living. And due to that, we tend to be unconscious if living it up is a healthy one. Some individuals smoke, some drinks heavily, some eat much and some eat less. Others work too hard and live a stressful life and on the contrary, some not even stretches a bone. They've said, foods are source of energy our body needs to keep us moving, alive and kicking for the fulfillment of our everyday tasks. But, are we eating right? How sure are we that food we intake and indulge have that enough nutrients our body needs? All of us are fond of food fads. We love eating "sitsiryas", street foods, processed foods, instant or easy-to-cook food which have lots of preservatives and in addition to, dinning in food-chained restaurants which indeed, without we concerning that taking too much of it not good for our health.These kind of lifestyle we had is a major factor that brought about these such sickness.

Medical people says, "prevention is better than cure". It's not too late for us folks. We could at least minimize the increasing morbidity and mortality of these diseases if not totally eradicated it all if we are just willing to change our ways. Yes, you hear it right! Before its too late, lets keep safe, correct our wrong routines by engaging a healthy life. How do we achieve it? simply by eating the right kind of food, those nutritious ones. Foods rich in nutrients, vitamins and minerals which we could find in fruits and vegetables, foods high in proteins like fish, chicken and beans, and of course, iron-rich foods found in seafood are the best. Stop smoking, eating a well-balanced diet instead. Promise, it may really be of great help. Your favorite junk foods are trashed foods so dumped it. alcoholic beverages are no good, it will just make your liver at risk.

I bet, embracing a healthy lifestyle is not that hard, it's worth it. We only live once so better learn to value, take care and appreciate it. Isn't it that health is wealth? Having a good health will give us a sound mind, a positive outlook and as well, make us function in our best everyday In that, enjoying life to the fullest is such an easy meaningful one. Always remember that life is not merely being alive, but being well and alive.
